I've told a lot of people this story in person over the last two months when someone asks me in person at a conference, but haven't been vocal about it here on the Nostr. It seems like a good time for an update. I'll try to keep this short and drama free, ain't nobody got time for that. We have prompts to submit and the future the build. I am no longer with @781a1527. I was laid off two months ago. Everyone was. I wish that wasn't the case. It is what it is though. Being unemployed for the first time in twenty some years fucking sucks. With a family to support, it's not a good time. It makes me question my mission. It makes me question whether it was a good idea to quit my previous stable job. It's also kind of fucking embarrassing. That's perhaps why I didn't talk about it? I don't know. Maybe I didn't know what to say? I don't like to fail. This feels like a failure, even though it's not any fault of my own. I'm not worried though. I'm still bullish on Nostr and freedom technology as a whole. I cannot go back to working against my passion. I feel as if it's my calling to do what I can to help build the future that I want to live in. So, what am I doing now? I recently took up a three month contract position with @9be0b1d7. We're pitching Nostr as infrastructure to businesses, decentralization, non-custody, etc. You can read all about it on our website nostr4.social. I applied for grants from OpenSats and HRF. My OpenSats grant has been denied, but I'm still hopeful on my HRF grant. Fingers crossed. I wanted to fully launch nostrometer.com and still hope I can do that. My future is uncertain, but as I said, I remain bullish and Nostr and freedom technology are my home and my passion. There's more grinding to be done, there's so much more work to do. Keep fucking building. I'm about to get on a plane and head home. 🫂🤙🏻💜
