Censorship reveals fear #XMR
nerostr v2 is out, as a first release candidate. It's been almost three years since the last update, so I ended up rewriting the whole thing.
Yesterday @TheFuzzStone pinged me about a downtime, so I took the opportunity to update it.
Nerostr is now a single Go binary built on khatru. The relay, the paywall and the admin API are one service, so it simplified from 4 services to just 2.
For people using wss://xmr.usenostr.org nothing changes, I migrated everything. A few things got better, and more modern.
If you host your own nerostr relay, v2 is a migration, not just a new image. Pin pluja/nerostr:v0.0.71 for now, and follow the migration guide when you're ready:
https://github.com/pluja/nerostr#migrating-from-nerostr-v1-strfry
Update info: https://github.com/pluja/nerostr/pull/15 Release candidate: https://github.com/pluja/nerostr/releases/tag/v2.0.0-rc.1
I will be adding some more features before the final v2 release.

Version 1.15.2 now merges all shared payment options between the receiver and sender. So, if you have a monero wallet installed and the receiver has a monero address listed, the option to use monero shows up in your zap popup.

Wow. That's cool.
Built a small Nostr-based period tracker for my girlfriend:
Local-first PWA, encrypted on device with a PIN. No servers, backs up and syncs (multi-device support) over Nostr; relays only ever see ciphertext, and the nsec is the recovery key. It supports importing CSV export from Drip on first run.
